Knocknarea Sunrise

Knocknarea is a large hill on a peninsula to the west of Sligo town. An enormous ancient cairn, dating to 3000BC, sits on the summit. This is known as the tomb of Queen Meadbh.

I climbed in the early morning to watch the sunrise and sketched the composition to include a view of Sligo Bay and Ben Bulben Mountain in the distance.
